Cathay crew

Balance, claims and CMT

The airline-specific half of the card guide. Screen names and menu paths below follow the Cathay portal — if you fly for someone else the sequence is much the same, but the labels will not match, so read how cards work instead and use your own portal.

Finding your balance

Physiotherapy and imaging are separate lines with separate balances. Two minutes here saves you booking something you cannot cover.

1

Hub → “Flexible Benefits” → Medical Members Portal

Separate login from the Hub itself.

2

Open My Claim Statement

Not Schedule of Benefits — that one downloads a PDF of what you are entitled to, which is a different question from what you have left.

3

Pick the person, then Outpatient

Employee and spouse have their own buttons and their own balances.

4

Read the Annual Summary table

One row per benefit, six columns across. The three rows that matter to you are below.

What the six columns mean

Annual Limit
The most that line can pay this calendar year.
Incurred Amount
What you were charged in total.
Covered Amount
The part the plan agreed to pay.
Copay
The share you carry by design.
Total Shortfall
What the plan did not pay — out of your pocket.
Balance
What is still available. This is the number you came for.

The three rows to look at

Physiotherapy treatment
Your physio line. This is what a CPR Physio session draws on.
Investigation
X-ray, CT, MRI, blood tests. A separate line — a big scan does not eat your treatment budget.
Complementary Therapies (CMT)
Its own line again, with its own limit. See below.

Other rows you will see: GP Consultation, SP Consultation, HK Gov’t Hospital OPD / AE, Private Hospital Outpatient Department, Psychiatric Outpatient Treatment, Consultation and Medication, Medical Evaluation & Others. Several of them share one pooled limit, which is why GP and specialist visits eat into the same money as your physiotherapy. VIEW DETAIL on any row opens the individual claims behind it.

Stop logging in every time. At the top of My Claim Statement there is a line reading “I wish / do not wish to receive the Monthly Account Notice via email.” Set it to wish once and your balances arrive monthly on their own.

Claiming a physiotherapy session

For cabin crew, flight crew and ground employees. The wording below follows one common portal layout; other airlines arrange the same steps differently, so treat it as the shape of the task rather than exact screen names.

1

Open the Hub and search “Flexible Benefits”

Your entry point, whichever crew group you are in.

2

Go to the Medical Members Portal

Separate login required. This is the only place with your real numbers.

3

Check how much you have left

Your physiotherapy quota runs to 31 December. Investigations — X-ray, CT, blood, MRI — are held in a separate pool, so a big scan does not have to eat your treatment budget.

4

Claim Submission → Outpatient Physiotherapy

Choose the outpatient physiotherapy category. Out of panel, expect to be reimbursed a proportion of what you paid rather than the whole amount — your own plan states the share.

5

Under HK$2,000 goes through electronically

No paper, no posting. A single session sits under this threshold.

6

Attach two photos

Your receipt, and your referral letter. Take both before you leave the clinic — chasing them later is what stalls most claims.

7

Provider name

Our company name or your physiotherapist’s name — both are accepted.

Chinese medicine packaged services work differently. They use their own claim form: you fill in the patient details and session count, and the provider chops or signs each session on the form. Reimbursement is only given for services received within the same benefit year as the benefit, up to the packaged benefit limit and subject to plan rules.

The CMT programme

Complementary Therapies. A separate benefit, a separate pot, and a separate way of claiming — most crew never touch it because nobody explains it.

It does not share your physiotherapy money

Complementary Therapies (CMT) sits on its own row of your Annual Summary with its own Annual Limit and its own Balance. Spending your physiotherapy line does not touch it, and spending CMT does not touch physiotherapy. If one row is empty, the other may not be — check both before you assume you are out of cover.

✓
We are in the CMT programme. Aviator Wellness, by Aviator Group, is registered under Manual Therapy — delivered by our manual therapist and sports therapist. So your CMT line is spendable with us, on top of whatever is left on your physiotherapy line.

The therapies in the CMT family

From the treatment list on the claim form itself:

Manual Therapy
This is us. Also on the list: Chiropractor.
Chinese medicine
Consultation, herbal medicine, bone setting, acupuncture, tianjiu — each its own code.
Homeopath, naturopath, osteopath
Grouped under a single code.
Dietician, podiatry, speech
Plus orthotics, occupational therapy and educational assessment.

The same dropdown also carries items that are not therapies at all — preventive screening, vaccination, eye check, glasses, medical supplies, smoking cessation. Those draw on other lines of your statement, not the CMT one, so check the Balance column rather than assuming.

Two of our services, two different pots. A physiotherapy session is OP - Physiotherapy under Local Outpatient and comes off your Physiotherapy line. Manual therapy with Aviator Wellness is Manual Therapy under Complementary Therapy CMT and comes off your CMT line. They are genuinely different treatments — file each one as what it actually was. Filing a physiotherapy session as CMT because your physio balance ran dry is exactly what declaration 4 on the form is about. Not sure which you had? Ask us and we will tell you straight.

Two ways to claim it

Single sessions

Claim online, as normal

Same e-form as any other claim, with one change: set Claim type to Complementary Therapy CMT rather than Local Outpatient. Pick the matching treatment code, attach your receipt, done.

Packaged services

Use the paper form

Buying a course of sessions as a package? That has its own form — CMT Benefits (Packaged Services) Claim Form, under Download Forms in the portal. It cannot be done through the normal e-form.

What the packaged form asks for

1

Your details, and the patient’s

Employee name and ERN, patient name and ERN. If the patient is your spouse, both sets are needed.

2

The package maths

Total amount claimed, number of sessions in the package, and the cost per session. They must agree with each other — a package that does not divide cleanly is the most common reason these come back.

3

Every session dated and chopped

The form carries a session grid. Each session gets its service date and the provider’s chop or signature. Get it chopped as you go — chasing fifteen signatures at the end is how these forms die.

4

Practitioner details, then sign

Put Aviator Group Limited as the practitioner, with Suite 3711, Hong Kong Plaza, 188 Connaught Road West, Sai Wan and 5599 6679. Then your own signature and the submission date. All of it is ready to copy on the practice run page.

The benefit-year rule bites hardest here. Reimbursement is only given for sessions actually received within the same benefit year as the benefit, up to the CMT limit and subject to plan rules. A package bought in December and used across January is the classic way to lose half of it — start long courses early in the year.
